SVB 2009

The Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) is the organization that implements national insurance schemes in the Netherlands. This year, Lava made the annual reports.

We approached the annual reports as a magazine, with short, accessible articles and lots of images. Because the SVB works on complex social security processes that directly impact people's everyday lives, we used key-words from their stories and chose every day pictures from users on flickr.com to symbolize these processes.

The corporate identity of the SVB is made up of vertical lines. We used these lines to connect the keywords with the text and images, adding an extra layer of meaning to the identity.
