Lava Summer Design School 2012

Last year's Summerschool was a huge succes! And this year we're proud to present a new edition, led by Reza Abedini, award winning Persian designer. Famous for his Persian calligraphy and typography, he will guide a 4-day course together with our creative director Hans Wolbers and designers of the Lava team. This 'East meets West' edition will focus on cross-cultural design and communication, as well as practical issues like bilingual design and non-western typography. The curriculum will contain Perso-Arabic typography, image association, and identity design in a global society.

Who should attend?
Graduate students from design schools, graduates, postgraduates and professionals in design. Who will be teaching? The course will be led by the famous Iranian designer Reza Abedini and award winning creative director Hans Wolbers and other designers from the Lava team.

When?
August 21-24, 2012

Where?
The course will take place in our beautiful waterfront Lava design studio in downtown Amsterdam.

Costs:
Early bird discount booking: € 995,-.
From the 15th of June the price will be € 1.495,-
(19% VAT included)

Inclusive:
Coffee, tea, snacks, lunches, a welcome drink on Tuesday evening and a BBQ on Friday evening.

All participants will receive a certificate, a free copy of Lava’s book ’97 years of Lava, a t-shirt and a unique ‘Dutch Design’ experience.

Extra information:

• All participants will need to bring their own laptop with design software.
• The courses will be given in English.
• All participants are responsible for their own travel expenses, visa and accommodation. Hower we will send all participants a list with suggestions of accommodations.
