In association with the BNO Paul Hughes and Marco van Hout facilitated a workshop called Get Emotional. The workshop explored how we can design for emotion across a wide range of design disciplines.
Lava participates in research on Multiplicity & Visual Identities.
In association with the Institute for Design Research, Design2context, in Zurich and the Dutch Platform for Design and Fashion, Premsela, Lava participated in a six month research project on Multiplicity & Visual Identities: Design research in multicultural hybrid societies. Monthly expert meetings were held to explore theoretical and practical explorations of visual identity in this multicultural society. Multiculturalism and visual identity has not been addressed in a systematic way by clients, nor by corporate/identity designers. Corporate design profession hardly reacts to and anticipates the contemporary contextual conditions of corporate and institutional design. Based on Lava's history and current work in visual identity work we believe it was essential for us to participate in this research.
